Our past & plans for the future

How CIM Has Worked With Women in the Past, and Plans to in the Future

In the past the participants of the Christian Inn program came from various sources—local county jails, the Ohio Reformatory for Women, Franklin Pre-Release, Jobs Plus, the Urban League, and the Hamilton County Adult Parole Authority.  In the future, as soon as the new locations and homes in Cincinnati are ready to receive residents, we will resume taking applications from women and men who desire to live a productive and law-abiding life.  The intake process involves filling out a detailed application, an interview with the director, and reading and agreeing to the CIM Covenant Agreement.  (See Services Provided for more information.)

CIM is value-based in a strong traditional family value system stressing the dignity and potential of each individual, a good work ethic, mutual restitution, personal and social accountability and responsibility, decency, integrity and caring for others in a pro bono approach.  This approach is Bible-based and has proven effective over the years in working with ex-offenders. First we teach our residents personal skills: how to break old habits, how to get along with other people, particularly those different from us.  Many have been homeless, so if need be, we teach basic hygiene.  Most have never had jobs, so we teach basic work habits – showing up on time, listening to a boss, and getting along with co-workers.  There is no such thing as a hopeless case; every person has worth and God given abilities that can be released in an atmosphere of love.

Habbakuk 2:2  “Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it.  For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it will speak, and it will not lie.  Though it tarries, wait for it, because it will surely come, it will not tarry”
