A TESTIMONY
Angela Hacker arrived at the Christian Inn Ministries in April 1999. With only three days notice of her release, she was very glad a bed was available. This is Angela's story.
"My
childhood consisted of broken homes and broken lives due to alcohol abuse.
I started getting in trouble when I was in the seventh grade. Peer pressure
led me to substance abuse and promiscuity. This continued through high school.
In 1992 I got married and soon had three children. I had stopped attending
church, so my old substance abuse habits returned. I was divorced in 1996.
After that I was introduced to crack cocaine and I went downhill fast. In
less than a year I had lost everything - I was homeless, alone and on the
streets.
I was arrested several times and finally did six months in the Hamilton County jail. In September 1998 a church group visited and I rededicated my life to Jesus Christ. I was placed in a treatment center where I prayed and read the Bible daily. Due to a probation violation in Clermont County, I was sentenced there, to six months in jail. God really began to bless my life! The judge released me early, but I had no place to go. A homeless shelter looked like my only option. A friend told me about Christian Inn Ministries, so I called and a bed was available for me. God provided a home better than I expected. Christian Inn was exciting to me because I wanted more of Jesus. I was so happy to be with other Christians after my jail experience and the persecution I encountered there.
I spent nine months there growing in Christ through Bible study, prayer, and praise... I received job skills training and was employed. I received visitation rights with my children in December 1999 and was restored to my former job at a US Post Office in February 2000."
