After a year of waiting on
the Lord to open the door of His choosing, suddenly in Sept. a house
in Woodlawn was "dropped in our lap." The owner called and
offered such good terms to purchase it, we couldn't pass it up.The price
was significantly lower than when we looked at it last year. On November
1st, 10146 Springfield Pike, two blocks from the CIM Shop, became the
new location of a transitional home for female ex-offenders. So, you may be asking, whatever happened to the commercial building we contracted to purchase in June. That door has shut for the time being. The ministry sees the first priority to be a residence for the ladies. When the home is in place and open, then attention can be given to the employment/business needs of the residents. The whole vision CIM is working towards is to provide housing, a program, job training, and employment for ladies newly released from incarceration. The model for this was introduced to us more than ten years ago. Its called Delancey Street, located in San Francisco; it's very effective in enabling men and women to successfully reenter society. The office/storefront building could fit well with the whole new vision, but must be in God's timing. BUSINESSES - JOBS - EMPLOYMENT!? It's amazing how many churches and ministries
are moving into the business world in order to help those they are ministering
to spiritually. There are several large moves in this city alone. The
Holy Spirit is leading many to address the needs of the whole person.
