CIM Store Provides Employment, Encouragement and Fellowship
Out of necessity, many of the jobs involved heavy lifting. So there were physical challenges, combined with the challenge of loss of hope in some of the men and women because of all the rejection they’d experienced in the work world. But the employees were so grateful for the opportunity to have employment that they became good at what they did, and received the support and courage to move on to full time work. Additional work opportunities opened up for men and women that included light moving and hauling, commercial and residential cleaning, siding and gutter work, miscellaneous handyman jobs, and lawn care projects.
One Worker’s Success Story:
A significant and the longest standing participant in the Christian Inn Shop was a young lady who moved into the Macedonia house only weeks before CIM made the decision to withdraw from the partnership there, and focus all energy exclusively on the store. It looked like divine timing for Tiffany to connect to CIM, as a mutual blessing to both. She brought compassion, order and professionalism into every area of the business and the ministry. And CIM could offer her fellowship, Biblical teaching and prayer support. It was a joy to watch her transformation from the time she arrived, to the time fifteen months later, when she moved on to full-time employment. In the fifteen months, besides running the resale furniture shop, she started her own ministry, had a ministry banquet of her own, helped many struggling young ladies, and met a wonderful Christian man who asked her to marry him. At this writing she and her husband are serving on the CIM board, and working together to help other ex-offenders in their reentry process. Read Tiffany’s Story.
